How Bot Blocking Works

Data Center Blocking
Most bots run from cloud servers and data centers. We identify and block traffic from:
- Amazon AWS
- Google Cloud
- Microsoft Azure
- DigitalOcean
- Vultr
- Other hosting providers
ISP-Based Detection
Traffic originating from hosting ISPs (rather than residential ISPs) is flagged as potential bot traffic.
Implementation
Enable Bot Protection
- Open SecurEcommerce
- Navigate to Blocking > ISP Blocking
- Add known hosting/data center ISPs
- Enable data center blocking
- Save configuration
Blocking Strategy
Aggressive (High Protection)
- Block all data center traffic
- Best for limited releases
- May affect some corporate users
Moderate (Balanced)
- Block major hosting providers
- Allow smaller cloud services
- Good general protection
Monitoring Only
- Log but don’t block
- Understand your traffic first
- Identify patterns before blocking
