What Content Protection Does
Right-Click Disable
Prevents the context menu from appearing, blocking:
- “Save Image As”
- “Copy Image”
- “View Image”
Copy Prevention
Blocks keyboard shortcuts:
- Ctrl+C / Cmd+C
- Ctrl+A / Cmd+A (Select All)
Text Selection Disable
Prevents selecting text for copying.
Additional Protections
- Drag prevention (can’t drag images)
- Print blocking (Ctrl+P disabled)
- Developer tools shortcuts blocked
Step 1: Access Content Protection Settings
- Open SecurEcommerce in your Shopify admin
- Navigate to Content Protection in the sidebar
- View available protection options
Step 2: Enable Protections
Toggle on the protections you want:
- Right-click disable - Recommended
- Copy prevention - Recommended
- Text selection disable - Consider carefully
- Print blocking - Optional
- Dev tools blocking - Optional
Step 3: Choose Protected Pages
Decide where protection applies:
All Pages
Maximum protection, but may affect user experience.
Product Pages Only
Protects your valuable content without affecting other areas.
Custom Selection
Choose specific collections or pages.
Recommendation: Start with product pages only.
Step 4: Test Your Setup
After enabling:
- Visit your store as a customer (logged out)
- Try right-clicking on a product image
- Try selecting and copying text
- Verify protection is working
User Experience Considerations
Content protection has trade-offs:

- Protect product pages, allow copying on blog/info pages

Limitations
Content protection stops casual theft. It doesn’t stop:
- Screenshots
- View source (for most content)
- Determined technical users
- Automated scraping tools
