Getting Started with SecurEcommerce

Overview

This guide walks you through installing SecurEcommerce and configuring essential security features. You’ll be protected in about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Install the App

1. Visit the Shopify App Store listing for SecurEcommerce
2. Click “Add app”
3. Review the permissions requested
4. Click “Install app”

The installation is automatic - no code changes needed.

Step 2: Complete Initial Setup

After installation, you’ll see the SecurEcommerce dashboard:

1. Review your security score - See your current protection level
2. Check SSL status - Verify your certificates are valid
3. Review recommendations - See suggested security improvements

Step 3: Enable Clone Detection

Clone detection is one of SecurEcommerce’s most valuable features:

1. Navigate to Clone Detection in the sidebar
2. Click Enable Clone Detection
3. The canary token system activates automatically
4. DNSTwist scanning begins monitoring for typosquat domains

You’ll now be alerted if anyone copies your store.

Step 4: Configure Basic Blocking (Optional)

If you want to block certain traffic:

1. Go to Blocking in the sidebar
2. Choose what to block:
   • Countries: Block regions you don’t ship to
   • VPN/Proxy: Block anonymized traffic
   • Specific IPs: Block known bad actors
3. Set your custom block message
4. Save your configuration

Start conservative - you can always add more blocks later.

Step 5: Enable Content Protection (Optional)

To protect your images and content:

1. Navigate to Content Protection
2. Enable desired protections:
   • Right-click disable
   • Copy prevention
   • Print blocking
3. Choose which pages to protect
4. Save settings

What’s Next?

With basic setup complete, consider:

• Setting up email security - Monitor DMARC/SPF/DKIM
• Reviewing blocking rules - Fine-tune your access control
• Enabling the trust badge - Show customers you’re protected

Verification

To verify everything is working:

1. Clone detection: Check the dashboard shows “Active”
2. Blocking: Try accessing your store from a VPN (if blocked)
3. Content protection: Try right-clicking on protected pages
